Lesley Bower

Artist

I am based in London and studied conservation of art on paper at Camberwell College of Art 1992-5 (now part of University of the Arts). I practiced for some years as a conservator before returning to creating my own art. I am a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Artists and exhibit regularly with them and separately in other galleries and open exhibitions, and my work is in private collections here and abroad.

Colour and texture are key features of my work, whether in landscape, still life or the urban scene.

For works on paper I will often use a variety of media, including collage, ink, pastel and watercolour. I keep a few twigs and sponges to use alongside conté crayons, acrylic, and brushes. I might use a couple of photos or a rough sketch as a starting point, then let the image take on a life of its own. Some of my creations are purely from my imagination.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work on this website. Please get in touch for more information or if you would like to purchase or commission a picture.
